Meditation For The Spirit

Why do we mediate and what are the effects of meditation on Mind, Body and Spirit?

What is the Best Time to Meditate?

The best time would be as soon as we awake in the morning, the earlier the better.

Ideally, it would be best to meditate twice daily, with the second choice being the last thing at night before going to bed.

Why Should We Meditate?

Meditation relaxes the body, purifies the mind and acts as the elixir for the spirit. There is nothing that even comes close to it in terms of its effectiveness.

How Should We Mediate?

Sit in a straight-backed chair with both feet on the floor or tiles; this method grounds you and would be preferred to carpet. Place your hands on your lap with your palms facing upward. Take several deep breaths. Focus on your breathing. If any thoughts should come up, moderately get rid of them.

Keep deep-breathing. If possible, do not be distracted and see what comes up to your mind. It is inherent that nothing would come up. It is also inherent that you could have a revelation. Usually, that comes later with practice.

While you are in the process of deep breathing, focus on assorted parts of your body. Imagine a enthralling light travelling straight through your body, beginning with your toes and working systematically upwards until you reach the crown of your head. When you get to your heart, pause there for a while. The heart is said to be the centre of love.
